Yes!!! Today is really special day for me. It’s orientation and first class in IICT at BUET. This year i get chance at BUET in MSc in ICT. I shall become a student of BUET was my father’s dream. but i am such stupid who don’t have enough marks in HSC and as a result was not eligible to apply for under graduate program. however, after couple of years i get eligibility to apply and it’s post graduate program. i sit in admission test second time and get chance. Thanks to Allah.
And finally from today our class has been started. in our orientation ceremony, i found it’s really really hard to pass rather then admission. pray for me so that i can complete MSc from BUET.
can u give me some idea abt the admission test plz ??

It’s not quite tough to get chance in IICT. Admission procedure is published in buet web site(http://www.buet.ac.bd/).
however last time i appeared in admission test for second time and get success. there were 1 subject(programming) which was compulsory and another 5 subjects(out of
answered. programming contain 80 marks and all other subject marks are 50. total marks 50X5 + 80 = 330 marks.
programming contain c, c++, oop, java (from undergrade sylabus) and other subjects are also from that sylabus. i feel, student from public or private university will get at least 5 subjects common out of 8. so worry

1. DBMS
2. Networking
3. VLSI(I am not 100% sure)
4. Operating Systems
5. Algorithm
6. Digital Circuit
sorry to say, i forget rest 2 subjects.

it is very nice to hear your story that how you have got in buet iict. this is my dream too. but, boss, can you help me to say that, in the programming area what type of programming they ask in the qualification exam?

Nop. So far i know CGPA is not a factor. From last year admission procedure changed slightly. Those who get below 50% marks in programming (subject no 8 in above list) automatically cut of from the admission result. competition remain with other subjects mark.

Extremely sorry to say, i forget what the questions were in BUET Admission Test. But so far here is a guideline from myself:
Programming:
i)write output of a C/C++ program. output like

ii) what’s wrong in a C/C++ program. (Syntex error and make correction)
iii) write prime program using C/C++ program.
iv) basic programming of Assembly Language (move AX, BX ….)
1. DBMS
i) Normalization & Denormalization
ii) Write ER diagram
2. Networking
i) Subnetting questions
ii) IP Addressing related questions
iii) Multiplexing, Demultiplexing
3. VLSI(I am not 100% sure)
4. Operating Systems
i) Scheduling Algorith (Round Robin or any)
5. Algorithm
i) Write flow chart
6. Digital Circuit (i have not answer this subject)
My Suggestion: Study all chapter’s basic. I think, if you can cover all chapter basic topics then you have a very good chance. More importantly, programming with C/C++ and concept of Java, Assembly language and others.
